Parish Staff

Pastor - Fr. Clement Gardner       

Reverend Clement Gardner was ordained in 1967 after studying at St. Mary's Seminary and University in Baltimore, Maryland. He is a native of Altoona and has received degrees in Theology from St. Mary's in Baltimore (BA, STB), St. Francis in Loretto (M. Div.), and Duquesne in Pittsburgh (MA). Before coming to St. Michael's, Father Gardner spent 17 years as the Director of the Department of Pastoral Care at Mercy Hospital in Johnstown and five years as the Director of the Ongoing Formation of the Clergy for the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese. This is Father Gardner's first Pastorate.

Secretaries - Donna Gildea, Janet Klingbeil

The secretary does the ordinary book work, typing, and filing needed in the maintaining of the parish office and also acts as a receptionist at the parish office.

Director of Parish Volunteer Ministries Mary Jo Lanzel (696-9394)

The Director provides direction and organization for volunteer projects, committees, and service within the parish.

Coordinator of Music Ministry - Tom Kunkle (312-3897)

The duties of the coordinator of music ministry include planning  music, directing the adult choir, working with the Youth Choir Director, musicians, organists, cantors, and working with the liturgical music enrichment of the community.

Director of Religious Education - Sue Teske (695-9735)

The Director coordinates and directs the Grade School religion education classes, the Confirmation Program, and the Christian Initiation Process.

Youth Ministry - Junior High: Tim Baranik (693-6780)

This is an organization of students who are involved in spiritual, community service, and social activities in the parish.

Director of Youth Choir - Sandy Harteis

The director recruits and leads our youth choir which sings during the school year.

Director of Contemporary Choir and Cantors - Julie Hanlon

The Director recruits and leads our contempoary choir while also training and coordinating the parish cantors. 

Housekeeper - Open

The housekeeper cleans and maintains the rectory.
